The proposed workshop is about making a tapestry of remains of no longer used fishing nets. To explore the possibilities of the material and to involve different groups of people to help in its making. The benefits are diverse: recycling a material for the second time; making discarded items more valuable through art, involving the community, making visible waste materials with artistic possibilities.

Juan has cultivated the garden now surrounded by highways, the AVE, roads and gas stations at the exit of the city, all his life. Marta and Tuni take care of a garden between two buildings to save it from construction speculation and Isabel’s family gathers under the cup of the Azufaifo tree she saved from logging, before she died. They are great little stories that explain prodigious gestures of inhabitants of the big city who resist living among cement, absent from the natural connection. They have the tools and the strength to transform their degraded and fragile environment into a living space in the face of the climatic emergency that we are living.
