Upcycling consists of taking recycled materials to create products that have a greater value than that of the original material. In other words: to transform waste into objects of value.

Who can participate?

We invite artists and designers, both amateurs and emerging as well as professionals, to take part in the contest.

The call will be open from October 23 to November 8, 2020.

You will be assigned a scrap object, selected by one of the establishments of Plaza Real in Barcelona, ​​so that you can give it a second life. Each object will represent the establishment that donated it, and you will impregnate it with its history and aesthetics.

Items will be distributed in order of arrival.

The reception of the works will take place on December 11.

As of December 14, the finalist works selected by our jury will be announced, and will be part of a circular exhibition circuit in the establishments of the Plaza Real in Barcelona from December 19 to December 27.

The winners will be chosen by popular vote of the people in the neighborhood and the awards ceremony will take place on December 27 in the Plaza Real in Barcelona.
