Drap-Art’21 is coming …
Once again, Drap-Art will collaborate with art and creativity in sustainable and intercultural urban transformation.
The International Festival of Sustainable Art of Catalonia celebrates its 25th edition celebrates its 25th edition with a very special program, including pioneers of Arte Povera and sustainable art, such as HA Schult and Pistoletto with his project Terzo Paradiso. A selection of artworks curated by Joan Abello, Betty Bigas, Tanja Grass, Robert Kaltenhäuser and Jasmin Waschl will research the origin of sustainability in Contemporary and Urban Art, with artists such as Bigas Lunas, Rafael Bartolozzi, Richard Hambleton (Shadowman) and SheOne.
Another exhibition will present a wide selection of artworks by invited artists and emergent artists selected by an open call. The program will be completed with several events such as performances, talks, conferences, screenings … in addition to communitarian art projects aimed at the enlivenment and participation of the neighbors with projects like the Super Gothic Woman.
From November 18 to December 21, 2021, the Barri Gòtic, at the center of Barcelona, will be flooded by art and sustainability. Culture and art are an intrinsic part of ourselves. In times of uncertainty, they are ideal tools for reflection, for creative analysis, for the creation of different paths and opening new horizons.
Exhibition Spaces
The exhibitions will be held in different spaces in the Gothic Quarter: Reial Cercle Artístic –exhibition of Contemporary and Urban Art pioneers–, Villa del Arte Galleries –contemporary artists–, el Borsí –invited artists and artists selected by the open call–, Centre d’Artesania de Catalunya –design and crafts from the open call and invited artists– and at Sala Perill with Drap-Art illes –invited artists from the Balearic Islands. These exhibitions will be accompanied by events in different spaces and public areas of the Gothic quarter, completing this year’s program.
