The Plaza Real Market is back !! We can finally start this Saturday, August 8! Come see our new creations, appreciate the positive attitude of our artists in the face of current circumstances and visit the captivating Plaza Real!
Due to the precautions taken regarding COVID-19 we were unable to schedule the Market in spring as planned, and now we are starting in scales.
On Saturday August 8, Experiencia Menta, Forquillart, Illariyart, Palola and Síndrome de Diógenes will exhibit their products. On August 15, Bendita Erre will join them and we hope that in September all exhibitors will be able to show and sell their creations.
We still do not have the authorization to program the workshops, for news about this, please keep checking our website.
From its origins, with the Creative Recycling Marathon of Barcelona, Drap-Art is a showcase of all creative trends that involve the reuse of materials, not only art, but also design (fashion, jewelry and costume jewelry, lamps, furniture, decorative objects) and crafts.
In 2004, with the new format of the International Festival of Recycling Art of Catalonia, all these trends were divided into several sections, including, from its beginnings, a market for art, design and crafts, .
Drap-Art also started organizing some specific and commissioned markets and fairs, and since 2010, has carried activities to revitalize Plaza Real, in collaboration with the Association of Friends and Merchants of Plaza Real, including free creative recycling workshops and the Market of artistic recycling and sustainable consumption,, with a spring season (every Saturday from mid-March to the end of June), autumn season (every Saturday from September to November) and Christmas season (every Saturday in December).
This market fosters a green and creative economy, and offers a space for selling to 20 artists, designers and artisans who are committed to a more sustainable world. This year the market has not been able to start for obvious reasons and the exhibitors are in a more than precarious situation because they have not only not been able to start selling, but they have already made all the necessary investments to start their activity.
Here, we present some of the works that are exhibited and can be bought at the market. You can also find some of them in our online shop. If you have to make a gift or want to give yourself a treat, please don’t hesitate to buy here; you will be supporting people who are committed to a better world and make them stonger!
