Market

MarketMarket of RecyclingRecycling ArtArt
and Sustainable Consumption

Since its beginnings with the Creative Recycling Marathon of Barcelona, Drap-Art brought together fine and visual artists, sculptors, performers, designers and craftspeople with the common denominator that they reused discarded materials in their works.

In 2004, with the new format of the International Festival of Artistic Recycling of Catalonia, all these trends were divided into several sections and, from the start it included an art, design and crafts market.

In addition, Drap-Art began to organize some specialized markets and fairs on request, and since 2010 Drap-Art carries out activities of revitalization in the Plaza Real, in collaboration with the Association of Friends and Merchants of the Plaza Real, which include free creative recycling workshops and the Market of recycling art and sustainable consumption, with a spring season (every Saturday from mid-March to the end of June), autumn (every Saturday from September to November) and Christmas (every Saturday from December).

This market fosters a green and creative economy, and offers a space for selling to 20 artists, designers and artisans who are committed to a more sustainable world. This year the market has not been able to start for obvious reasons and the exhibitors are in a more than precarious situation because they have not only not been able to start selling, but they have already made all the necessary investments to start their activity.

Here, we present some of the works that are exhibited and can be bought at the market. You can also find some of them in our online shop. If you have to make a gift or want to give yourself a treat, please don’t hesitate to buy here; you will be supporting people who are committed to a better world and make them stonger!
