Artist of the month

We are expanding our Gallery activities to include monthly events such as artist presentations, interviews and more. As many of our fans know, Drap-Art is a network of artists and creators, so we understand that giving visibility to artists who represent the philosophy of "nothing disappears, everything transforms" is a central pillar of our actions. We are happy to present Jorge Traverso as the first artist of the month, now in July.

To learn about the personal and professional history of Jorge Traverso, Tanja, president of Drap-Art, met with Jorge last month to talk about his artistic project and the importance of art in our society.

Jorge studied Art History, Painting and Engraving Techniques in Uruguay. In 1970 he moved to Spain and travelled through various European countries and North Africa. He lived and worked for many years in Barcelona, with forays into Eivissa and Formentera, where he established his residence in 2009.

He develops the Beach Art Project of artistic creation eminently with plastic materials that he finds on his walks along the beaches. The artist expresses that his intention is purely artistic, in the chaos that the sea returns he finds a form, transmits beauty and leaves the feelings and interpretation of his work to the viewers free understanding.
